We are reaching out to the local community - asking members of our four schools’ communities to get more closely involved.
Our multi-academy trust is made up of Avon Valley College, Bulford St. Lenoard’s Primary, St. Michael’s Primary and Durrington All Saints Infants Schools, and was formed on 1 July.
Now, at the start of the academic year, parents and other interested individuals are being given the chance to join one of our Academy Advisory Boards (AABs), working with the principal of the individual academies to help the development and improvement of teaching, learning and standards.
Community members from Durrington, Figheldean, Bulford and Larkhill are being invited to an open meeting on 21 September, staged in the main hall of Durrington All Saints Infant School, starting at 6pm.
The meeting will explain what being a multi-academy trust means and the main roles and responsibilities of an Academy Advisory Board member.
" AABs are the voice of the school and the community," explained interim CEO Helen Mathieson.
" The role of a member of an AAB is voluntary but provides an excellent opportunity to be more involved in your local academy - perhaps the academy that your children attend - and to work closely with your own community," she explained.
"Existing AAB members and the Academy Trust Board will be there to welcome you and would be delighted to meet you," she added. "Why not come along and find out more?”
