The Key Stage 1 Fundamental festival took place at Avon Valley College, part of Salisbury Plain Academies, recently.
Pupils from Netheravon, Figheldean, Larkhill primary schools and Durrington Infants came along to the event where they took part in different activities focused on the ABCs of physical literacy; agility, balance, co-ordination and speed.
Year 8 sports leaders from AVC organised and officiated at the nineteen activity stations. They also chose someone that had either put in maximum effort or had shown great ability to receive a medal at the end.
“This was the first time the Year 8 students had done any leadership,” said AVC PE teacher, Collette Harries. “This was the first step on the leadership pathway and next year they will be officiating numerous primary festivals. They were all very responsible and excellent role models.”
